The Importance Of Antioxidants

Foods that contains antioxidants are becoming more important to us if we want to to maintain or improve our lifestyle.

Unfortunately a lot of the food we are eating today are processed and contains not only a lot of fat but a lot chemicals that has an unwanted effect on our body.

The problem is the more unhealthy our food and lifestyle is, with obesity and stress. The more so called “Free Radicals” will be stored in our body.

“Free Radicals”  is something you really do not want to have much of because they can cause cancer, diabetes, heart diseases and other age related diseases that can put your quality of life in danger.

We have always been taught that we need to take our multivitamins and omega 3 oil. With today’s diet we need a little bit more than that, we need to take antioxidants supplements as well.

ORAC Units

Antioxidants are measured in ORAC values. For example a Golden Delicious Apple contains around 2670 units and Acai contains around 102,700 units per 100 grams.

As a minimum you should be taken in at least 5000 units on a daily basis but preferable around 12.000 units to be covered completely.

Most American take in less than 800 units on a daily basis which is not enough.

The problem is that we do not eat that many vegetables, fruits and berries to get us covered.

Imagine if we had to eat 6 apples a day to reach the desired 12.000 units. That would give us a way to high calorie and fructose intake and we could actually become obese.

Berries is a much better option because they have a higher ORAC values than apples, around 5000 units per 100 grams, which means you would have to take in a little bit more than 200 grams on a daily basis.

It would be lot easier and a better option.

 

Antioxidants Supplements

Another way far better way to get your ORAC units covered is by taking an antioxidant supplement like Slimberry, which is a good combination of Maqui and Acai berries and other fruits, berries and leaves from around the world.

Here you would not only get a lot of other benefits like weight loss but also be completely sure you would be covered with enough antioxidants on a daily basis.

And it would be much easier to administrate long term.
